I teach in a small community in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My students are curious, inventive, and creative this year. They thrive when working with anything technology related, especially coding. This group isn't phased by new things being thrown their way!
They truly have a passion for solving problems, and they are fearless in the face of any challenge I throw at them.
My goal is to expose them to a variety of tools and gadgets that will be a part of their lives.
My Project
My students are so engaged when it comes to learning with any technology related tool, but I don't feel as though I have the tools to really push their thinking yet. The inventive process is such a rich way for students to learn. How can I get the robot to do this? It didn't do what I wanted, how can I fix that? What can I do better? Students learn best with this hands-on approach!
The goal is to move our fourth grade students towards robotics competitions within the next few years!
However, the goal for this year is to get the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Core Set in their hands and start challenging their thinking.
