This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a small community in Northeast Alabama. 68% of students at my school receive free and reduced-price lunch. Even though many of our students live at or below the poverty line, students and teachers at my school work hard to bridge the achievement gap. Students receive an education full of rigor and receive quality instruction from a vast array of trained professional educators. Our high school is committed to helping our students become successful global citizens in the 21st century.
My Project
We need more volleyballs to help increase the amount of reps our students get during practice. Volleyball is one of the competitive sports offered to girls at our school, and we are in dire need of new equipment to aid in our volleyball program.
Weaver Volleyball is an amazing sport filled with coaches who support our student-athletes in every area of their school life.
These volleyballs will help us to run more drills, work on serving, and help us have more balls available for passing when we attend tournaments and all teams must provide volleyballs. Increasing skills is a need; therefore, we need more balls to aid in this process.
