My Students
We are a class that practices empathy and inclusion.
My students are from ALL walks of life, cultures, and different races and religions.
My goal is to connect my non-readers to a book that “hooks” them. I want students to read stories that are about kids like them! Or, take them to places they have never been through the pages of a book.
My Project
The first semester, we focused on building our reading muscles! The best way to increase reading ability is to read more! My students already have shown a HUGE interest in reading! Last semester as a whole, my classes read over 300+ books!
Having diverse books will continue to push my students to be passionate, lifelong readers.
Having more books to choose from with help kids continue to reach their personal reading goals for the year.
I have seen how allowing book choice gives my students the confidence they need to READ and hope I can keep building their reading stamina!
