My students need an iPad Mini and case for speech and language practice.
My speech and language impaired students need an iPad and case to increase their practice opportunities and make progress faster. More practice equals faster learning!
My 58 students have a wide range of disabilities including developmental delays, speech delays, autism, learning disabilities, intellectual delays and language impairments.
They are all special education students who need to improve their communication skills to be successful in life. They are motivated learners who always work their very hardest.
An iPad in the hands of my students would increase their practice opportunities and therefore increase the rate of progress. As long as my students have speech and language impairments they are going to have difficulty with reading and writing and clearly expressing their ideas in the regular classroom. This technology will help bridge the gap and provide a multitude of learning opportunities.
My students will be able to practice their speech and language skills on the endless application available.
While I am working with one student they will actively be practicing on the iPad. Many of my students don't have anyone at home to provide the practice needed to overcome their communication delays. Generous support will make my students better speakers, readers and writers.
