I am the School Counselor at an elementary school in Brooklyn, NY working with all grades Kindergarten-5th.
As the school year progresses and the SEL needs of students are ever-present and growing, (especially after coming off of remote learning), I'm looking to continue to fill my office with activities, toys and games that help our students re-learn how to be with, work with and play with others in ways that make everyone feel good!
It has been amazing to see students playing and creating together in person! There is so much problem solving and communication that comes naturally through play and creativity! These supplies will help with the continuation of this skill building! I also have been expanding my book library to showcase books that are representative of students, families and all human beings. I've ran out of space to show all the amazing books and need a bookshelf (big item) to showcase these! I'm in need of more storage so children can truly see themselves in the amazing literature that is available today.
