My Project

Kindergarten has changed so much in recent years, but the way that our youngest students learn has not. In our classroom, incorporating play with engaging, hands-on manipulatives, toys, and games is not only enjoyable for my students, but a crucial part of their learning.

Psychologist Jean Piaget once said, "Play is the work of childhood."

Mr. Rogers took this further by stating, "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning." My goal in creating this project is to provide my 19 students with fun, new Lakeshore activities and STEM materials that can be incorporated into our daily lessons, along with our daily play areas!
