My students are hard working and very energetic. They are creative and love to read! We are a year round school and I loop with my class which means I get to work with them for two years. Our school is Title I with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast, lunch, and snack.
"It's okay to be different" has been a positive motto for our class this year!
We were lucky to be in a culturally rich classroom where we can learn about diversity. Over half of my students are receiving services for special education and ESL. We spend a lot of time building our community and appreciating each other's differences.
Almost 5 years ago Donors Choose funded my first ever project for flexible seating. The seating options I received changed my class and my teaching for the better. Now, it is time to update and replace some of the well loved items in my room.
We put a lot of emphasis on building our stamina for reading and independent work.
Having seating options that allow students to stay focused and engaged is very crucial.
These bean bag chairs and lap desks will give students the flexibility to find places within the room that work for them instead of the traditional idea of staying in a desk all day.
