Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing. This year there are 185 kids signed up for music classes at my school. They come from a variety of different backgrounds and treat each other with respect. They are not afraid of hard work. They voluntarily take on extra. They are extremely intelligent, energetic, positive, sensitive, and supportive of each other. They work well as a team. They understand personal responsibility, listening, and give and take. They go out of their way to make sure everyone is successful. They always try their best.
My students are inspiring.
My Project
First of all I would like to thank everyone who funded my first project. Our music program has grown since the school was originally built. The stands that we started with more than a decade ago are beginning to fall apart. We barely have enough for a single class but regularly combine classes for performances so that more experienced students can support the younger students. Our ultimate goal is to purchase 72 music stands. I am asking for a few stands at a time because smaller projects are more likely to get funded.
Donations to this project will help my students to see their music and to practice proper posture, which is vital to creating a beautiful sound.
Students should never have to share more than two to a stand because they can't see the music. We sometimes have as many as four students per stand.
