My students are very energetic, eager-to-learn children. They come to school every day with a smile and are always ready to learn new things. The school environment seemed scary in the beginning of the year, considering many of the children come from non-English speaking households. However, once the school year got started and they learned routines, they started to feel much more comfortable.
Kindergartners love to play as well as help each other.
They don't realize they are learning at the same time as they are playing! I want to keep this momentum going for them to experience the joy of learning.
My Project
Receiving more hands-on manipulatives for the students to learn from will greatly increase their chances of learning how to read, write, do math, and socialize.
Arts and crafts, sensory materials and building activities help the students be creative, expand their thinking and teaches them to dream big!
By having new learning materials in the classroom, the students will be eager and energetic to keep on learning, even after a very long day of curricular lessons. Having a little bit of free time and choice helps to allow the students to feel independent and relaxed, as they are enjoying what they are doing, instead of being drilled with material that might be too hard, or not make sense to them.
