My students need more Bee-Bots so each child has a chance to program! With 6 in our school, 4-5 students have to share one, which isn't really an effective way to teach coding.
Our school provides an enriching curriculum and an inviting atmosphere for four hundred twenty-five beautiful children. We serve children from Preschool through 6th grade and offer music, art, Spanish, PE, media, and technology in addition to our core subjects. Located in a rural North Carolina town, our school is a big part of the community!
Our students deserve the best, and the staff gives 110% every day to make that happen!
Although our students come from many different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, when they enter our doors, everyone is treated equally. Students are encouraged to dream and they are supported throughout their academic quest with highly qualified teachers. We are reaching out to provide for our students what our current state budgets cannot fund.
My Project
To help prepare our students for future careers, our school has begun to teach coding. Recently, we received funding to purchase a set of 6 Bee-Bots. Although we are thrilled and can't wait for them to arrive....we know that we need more! With only 6, a classroom would have to share one Bee-Bot between 4 students. And with something this fun and interactive, they need to have their own!
With additional Bee-Bots, our kids could each have a chance for hands-on coding.
The Bee-Bots can work to teach vocabulary, phonics, math, science processes, timelines, and just about any curriculum area you can think of in a fun way. Bee-Bots will allow students to work through the process of coding while teachers can continue teaching necessary skills. These Bee-Bots will be a game changer for our school!
