This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our beautiful science and art charter school is colorful and inviting. We provide a positive environment to our 500+ students. The majority of our students come from low-income households and our entire school qualifies for free lunch.

In addition to working with a low-income population, a lot of our students are English learners.

The challenges that are encountered throughout the year are many, which is why community help is so crucial. We want to set our students up for success!

My Project

My students can't get enough of Diary of a Wimpy Kid books! My classroom library bin which holds these specific books always seems to have zero books in it. Kids will literally ask those who are reading them if they can be next in line. I would LOVE it if my students had enough of these wonderful books to go around. In addition to not having enough, every year, a new book is added to the collection. I would love to have recent books available for my students to read. Our school's library can't keep up with the demand either, they usually have a wait list for these books.
