Help me give my students a stronger engagement for reading! For my small group reading experiences, each of my students need their hands and eyes on a book for themselves to help them better follow along in reading!

My Project

I teach in a multi-grade classroom. Each year, my students KNOW that second graders get to experience literature circle discussion from their engagement in the two books that are included in this project. However, for the best impact, each student in my small group will have a much better experience if they have their hands on their own copy. This can also improve their reading comprehension and joy for reading! Having multiple copies of the same book will allow my students to follow along on their own and gain more confidence in our shared reading experiences and discussion.

These two books are ALWAYS a hit in my classroom.

My first grade students observe the joy my second graders express, which makes my first graders excited to read it in their second grade year. When my third graders see the second graders read it, they tend to look back on their memories of the engagement with the texts as well.
