My classroom is full of excited, fun learners. They come ready for anything, and that means a lot, because they all come from so many different lifestyles and home lives. We have a beautiful community of military families whose children attend our school. We have seen our fair share of children being reunited with a parent back from their time of service! Our school borders also include an Indian reservation and many low income neighborhoods. Our student population also has a high percentage of Hispanics. Here our students also enjoy 100% free breakfast and lunch.
These kids love to create, investigate, work together, and just learn as much as possible.
One of my favorite parts of this job, as a teacher, is to create learning opportunities for these eager children that come in ready every day. So fun!
My Project
This project is going to be a wonderful addition to our field trip to Yellowstone Bear World. Bear World is a super fun place nearby; this place is similar to a zoo. Bear World is full of animals that live in our type of area. It is a little expensive to go, but our school gets a great discount for the kids. Our second graders go to Bear World every year, and they love it. There are animals like bears, bison, moose, elk, and other animals that they get to see up close and learn a little about.
This Bear World field trip is a chance of a lifetime for most of these kids.
I love being a part of it. This year I would like to have tie dyed shirts to wear together to our field trip. I think it would be fun memory making these fun shirts, and then on top of that wearing them all on that day as we go out on our adventure. This means we will need packs of white t-shirts, tie dye kits, rubber bands, marbles, and tablecloths to help us make this happen.
Along with this field trip, we need to add a few non-fiction books to our library. We need twelve books about the animals we will be seeing at Bear World. This will give students an opportunity to further explore these amazing animals. This will be such a fun opportunity with these few added items to end our amazing year.
