I have a wonderful group of students in my Montessori classroom, grades 1-3. They love learning and working with the Montessori materials and their desire to learn inspires me every single day.
The Montessori education focuses on developing the "whole student", focusing on life skills, with a lot of attention given to mindfulness, peacefulness and the world we live in.
We have students from different backgrounds and they are all tied together by the wonderful opportunity of working in a Montessori classroom. Our school is a FREE Montessori school which is very special. Usually Montessori schools are private, but this class gets to attend a public Montessori school at no cost to them.
My Project
I am so excited about this project and what it will mean for my classroom. We are a Montessori classroom full of eager brains ready to learn! Some of the items in this project include: Simple Machines, the Human Body, the Solar System, and Weather.
We will use these items to further our Montessori educational journey!
The items are hands on and I know will get my students so excited about science and want to do all of the projects.
I want to focus more on science this year so my students have a better context about the world around them and these materials will help. Students need to understand the subject in order to read about it, so in a way this project will also help future readers and writers!
