Our students are full of curiosity. They have a hunger for knowledge and hands-on experiences that makes them a delight to teach! Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, we work to teach the underserved of our community.
Many of these students are students are first time scientists.
They crave hands-on experiences and an opportunity to make sense of the world around them. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to help guide them into the world of scientific exportation and maybe even spark passion in a future career.
At my school, we teach in teams. And my team's focus this year is to cultivate global-mindedness in our teaching. In our curriculum, we include topics of scientific literacy, climate change, and global citizenship. During the second semester of this school year, we will be discovering how we have been shaped by our local environment and how we have in turn shaped it.
As educators, we strive to provide our students with a comprehensive learning experience.
Although we live only an hour from the ocean, most students haven't had the chance to examine what lies beneath the surface. The Monterey Bay Aquarium provides us the opportunity to dive deep, while staying dry! What better way to inspire the next generation of ocean stewards than by experiencing the ocean face-to-face.
This year our students will be using the experiences they create at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in their math, language arts, history, and science classes. By the end of the year, our students will have connected with the natural history of our unique ecosystem and become prime champions for conservation policy, eco-friendly living, and engineering solutions to our planet's greatest challenges.
