My students need 2 iPod Touches to reinforce a variety of kindergarten skills by using learning apps available such as: sight words, math, puzzles, letters and sounds.
Help us enjoy many new skills through a variety of fun and entertaining apps available for the iPod Touch. My students could practice many different skills that will help increase their reading and math skills through a hands on activity developed for their age and abilities!
My students are 5 and 6 year olds who attend a small rural school in Oklahoma.
Many of my students are not privy to technologies at home. Therefore, having new technologies available at school is a bonus to them! My students love having computer time and would love to try a new and exciting way to practice what they are learning on the iPod Touch. They get so excited to do something different and new, so this is a great way to keep them interested and motivated to be involved in learning!
My Project
Having the iPod Touch available in my classroom will encourage and excite students to practice math, reading, letters and letter sounds, problem solving, etc, through a variety of available apps created specifically for the iPod Touch. These available apps are created for children by age and grade level. Kindergarten children love technology and would greatly benefit by being engaged in the games and activities that reinforce the skills I am teaching in class. The students are rewarded by earning various items for doing well on the activities. The activities also privately self correct when a child does not do well, allowing them to refocus and try again.
IPod Touches will allow my kindergarten students hands on opportunities to practice important reading and math skills needed to be successful students.
Practicing everyday skills in a fun and entertaining way will encourage these youngsters to want to learn!
