My school is a Title I school in a low-income area of the city of Los Angeles. All the students who attend this school receive free breakfast and lunch. About 48% of the school population are English language learners. Our school is a Gold Ribbon School and is very interested in developmentally appropriate practices for our youngest students. All of our primary teachers, work very closely to implement high standards so students receive the foundational learning they need to be successful in life and reach their academic goals. Thank you so much for your consideration of our project.
My Project
Learning the basics about money and counting are foundational to financial literacy. Our youngest students will learn about money concepts through engaging literature and non-fiction books and then expand their skills in number concepts and counting through games.
Financial literacy starts with learning about money and counting.
Financial literacy is very important to every adult's life but to a child it all starts with play. Play is after all, the highest form of research. Through play our students will develop their counting skills and a strong concept of number which is the very first step in developing financial literacy. Please help our students with their very first step to a bright financial future!
