My students are simply amazing! I absolutely adore them! They are the sweetest 6- and 7-year-olds you will ever meet. We are a small, rural town, in the East Texas area. The school where I teach is a Title I school, where 76% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. A large percentage of our students are also English language learners.
Every day, these sweet kiddos are always eager to learn and willing to take on new challenges no matter how difficult.
They are thoughtful, caring, funny, and hardworking. I couldn’t ask for a better group of students!
My Project
The materials I am requesting for this project will help my firsties with their financial literacy skills tremendously!
Learning the various coins and how to count them can be a challenging skill for first graders especially since so many parents use plastic to make purchases these days.
These games and activities that I have requested will make the skill of being able to identify and count coins a "real life" adventure for my kiddos. With these games, they will be able to practice looking for features to help them identify and learn the coins as well as learn each coin's value and practicing counting them.
