My second graders are wonderful students who come to school each and every day eager to learn. My students come from all over the world. Our different cultures and diversities make our classroom a wonderful place of learning. Some of my students have only been in the United States for a few years. The strength these children show in adapting to a new country, new school and new environment never ceases to amaze me! I want to give my students every opportunity possible to ensure their success.
I truly believe that all children deserve all that is necessary to enhance their learning but sometimes it is financially difficult to provide them with all that they need.

My Project
Leaning about money is very important in second grade. Children begin to learn all about coins, bills, and the value go these items.
Help me give my children a "Money Center" where they can go and learn the value of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies!
I feel that some child learn most by being able to touch, feel, and see what they are learning about. When it comes to learning about money, I feel the children would benefit most by having plastic coins and bills that look and feel like real money. In our money center, I want to have a place where my children can sit and look, touch and feel coins and bills. The colored bins will allow the kids to store these items so they can be used from year to year!
