My students spend time in class learning about different aspects of Social Studies while simultaneously learning English skills!
These young adults are full of energy and positivity that radiates in our classroom and daily activities. They are kind, respectful, and determined students. Unfortunately, many of these students come from low income families (some that are refugees) that struggle to provide basic necessities for educational success.
We are like a family in this classroom, and I thank you so much for your help!
My Project
The students in my classroom originate from diverse backgrounds that are underrepresented in my current history curriculum. It is also important to connect these students to topics that are interesting and relevant to their experiences. It is my goal to create a learning environment that students are excited to participate in!
The Scholastic magazines in this project will supply high interest news stories that apply to various cultural groups and historical topics.
Students will be more engaged in the classroom and connected to the world we live in. The magazines and posters will also be used to supply a connection between current and historical events.
