This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How do you see things you can't see? That's why we make models (at least one reason)! Help my students discover the hidden world of atoms and molecules.

Most of my students are first or second generation immigrants to the United States.

They struggle to understand academic English, so I can't rely on our textbooks as a teaching tool. We use modeling and experimentation, but due to the economic crisis, educational supplies that are crucial to their academic success are not readily available.

My Project

Working in small groups, my students will be able to construct and manipulate models of life's most common organic molecules. Students will also be able to connect and bring to life their knowledge of the periodic table as they realize why water is H20, and not O2H.

Hey, I'm just trying to make the next generation's scientific knowledge and understanding as concrete and real as possible.
