Models of Fictional Narratives Help Us Write Fictional Narratives!
My students need fictional narrative books as models for writing their own books, printer ink to print their stories, a shelf to store the books we are working on, and correcting pens.
My students are self-motivated to learn anything about everything! They question constantly to seek answers but also question those answers. They form opinions based on new learning and love to look for evidence. They are inspired daily to be better people from their families, friends, classmates, and school. The students in my class are driven to succeed and work hard to be the best that they can be. They are a joy and pleasure to work with and learn from.
My Project
In order to write good fictional narratives, my students need mentor texts to model what a good narrative reads like. It's hard to ask them to write without an idea of what they are supposed to write about! Each book will be read to the students to begin specific writing lessons. The books will remain in the classroom library for the students to use again and again. The printer ink will be used to print their newest stories, the magnetic shelf will house their books for others to read, and the ink pens will be used to help with editing and for peer editing.
