Help me give my students Flow of Genetic Information Kits. The 10 kits would allow my students to work in small groups (2-3 students) and model several different molecular processes including DNA replication, transcription, and translation.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from Victoria, Texas and come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and experiences outside of the classroom. Because I teach two different classes, I have 9th through 12th grade students.
My students work hard and want to learn, but they have a hard time visualizing several concepts which occur on the molecular level.
The use of models in classroom and laboratory activities help bring these abstract concepts to life for the students and allow them to "see" how these molecular process take place.
Our school was affected by Hurricane Harvey so right now we have limited budgets for lab supplies.
My Project
The Flow of Genetic Information Kits would be very beneficial to my students because the kits would allow my student to model several molecular level processes vital to understanding DNA replication, Transcription, and Translation. These topics are essential to understanding cellular reproduction and how DNA is able to carry genetic information and express physical traits.
The great things about the kits is that they are so versatile, so that the same components can be used to model several different cellular processes.
This will allow my students to visualize how and more importantly why it is essential for these processes to take place within each of our cells. One of the things that I love about models is that they give the students the opportunity to "talk" through the different processes. They can take on the role of the teacher and model this process and explain what is happening and why. By teaching it to their classmates, they are better able to understand it and internalize it on a deeper level.
