My Students

My students LOVE SCHOOL! They come in active and excited each day, in-person or on-line, hoping we are doing something that requires them to think outside the box. Working together, my PreK-8th-grade students solve real-world problems that help create stronger thinkers and independent learners.

I couldn't be prouder of my classes and the way they treat each other like one big, slightly silly, family of engineers, mathematicians, and scientists.

They are curious and creative and they truly love exploring new ideas and concepts using STEM. My students are a truly remarkable group and I am so lucky to be their teacher!

My Project

This project will allow our distance learning students to follow the engineering design process at home and create physical models of their completed project. This clay can air-dry and then (with water) be returned to a soft, clay for reuse. Due to Covid-19 and the ensuing financial hardships, students often don't have access to MakerSpace/STEM supplies at home and will have the opportunity to stop by our school and pick up a portion of clay for use at home.

The use of clay during lessons encourages self-expression, builds confidence, adds to a child's problem solving skill set..
