My students are made up of juniors and seniors. The classes I teach are Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy. Our school strives to have all students aspire to the highest level and be engaged in their own education. We want our students to have a successful high school experience and be prepared for whatever comes after high school.
My students are at that age when they are on the verge of setting out into their next phase of life.
Most of them are serious about being prepared for either college or vocational training. Students tell me that they enjoy class because they are learning by doing.
My Project
The use of whiteboards could be a daily activity in my classrooms, especially in chemistry. Students can use whiteboards for guided practice with equations and to draw models. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are thinking, as well as provide an informal place for them to show and share their work. The student benefits from getting immediate feedback from me or their peers. For both chemistry and physics, students can share their graphs from their labs and answer key questions on the whiteboard instead of a formal lab report.
