My classroom is home to 28 Fourth graders, some of the most energetic, curious, and creative kids I’ve ever worked with. I work with a co-teacher in an ICT structure, meaning that our students have a wide range of social-emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
We believe in the power of inclusion to encourage kids to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and citizens of the world.
Growing up in New York City, our students have incredible resources and opportunities around them. They bring so much knowledge, joy, and enthusiasm to our class every day - it is truly a privilege to be their teacher.
My Project
By attending the NCTE conference this year, I will be able to form connections with educators from all around our country and our world. As a fourth-year teacher, I’ve learned so much from my peers and mentors so far - attending this conference will help me bring my learning to the next level.
I teach my students that learning is a lifelong process; I hope to show them that even teachers always have more to learn.
My going to NCTE will not only strengthen my professional connections, but it will also demonstrate to my students that our job as learners is never finished. The learning that I bring back from NCTE will enrich my classroom environment every day, making me a stronger and more capable teacher of reading and writing.
