Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
On Friday we said “Goodbye, see you Monday”, but that was not to be. We were told we would begin remote learning before Monday came. Our little learners are at home learning virtually. I am recording lessons and posting on Google Classroom. We have 2 Meet Ups a week mostly so they can see each other, as parents have said that is the hardest on these 4 and barely 5-year-olds, not seeing their friends. They don’t understand why we can’t be together and wondering when they can come back to the "big" school.
My Project
Whether in person or virtually, my Pre K kids need to see lessons being modeled for them. I did not bring many manipulatives home with me as I thought, as everyone else did, that we would see each other soon. I would love to be able to model our Math lessons using different manipulatives than I have been using. My kids will be so excited seeing airplanes and fish instead of cubes and the same dinosaurs I have been using since this all began.
Our upcoming ELA Unit involves transformations, what a surprise it would be to be able to see the stages of a butterfly on our screen during a Meet Up.
We miss each other and I just want to brighten their day as we all struggle with this remote learning.
