We have 70 amazing students in our first grade. Our first grade contains students with a variety of abilities, including students in Basic Skills, students with IEPs, English Language Learners, and students who perform above grade level expectations. They are diverse in family backgrounds, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status, and many other factors. Our goal is to create a community of learners that fosters academic growth tailored to each student’s interests and level for development.

My Project
I am requesting a donation for model magic. In social studies, the children are learning about different kinds of landforms. We are always looking for creative student centered ways for the children to show us what they know. With this donation, the children will be challenged to create their very own land form island! They will get to work in partnerships and create their own island with different landforms on it. They will collaborate and plan together as well as be challenged to problem solve if things don't go right. This engaging activity will allow the students to deepen their understanding on landforms!
