My Students

Many of our students attended a Title I elementary school. They are hardworking and very enthusiastic. They are from diverse backgrounds and add to the culture of our school. They face many challenges daily.

My students have turned windows into doors. They break through barriers many other students do not face. They made 20% gains on our state end-of-course exam. If they have the tools to be successful, they can be. They want a level playing field in the classroom.

My Project

I teach in a school built in the 1950's, it is the oldest currently in use. This becomes a cord nightmare when it comes to technology. I can't leave my desk while showing anything from my document camera or desktop. So I am always stuck at the back or my room. If a student wants to present they are stuck sitting at my desk also.

The tablet would allow for movement around the classroom during presentations and lessons.

It is hard to be effective from the back of the room. I want the ability for my students and myself to be able to move around during class time creating a more engaging classroom.
