My students love to inquire and make choices about their learning. They have worked hard to adopt a growth mindset and are constantly learning from their mistakes to improve and grow. My students. My students come to school each day ready to learn something new.
They are risk-takers and they are learning to have agency in their learning.
I have a very diverse range of learners in my classroom. I have students in my class that range from the first percentile to the 99th percentile. I have students whose first language is English, and I have students whose first language is not English. I have students that love to learn about the cultures of their classmates and who celebrate each other's successes. My students are a community of learners who love to collaborate and learn from each other.
My Project
As we move towards a more flexible seating environment in my classroom, students will be choosing to sit in less traditional ways, and it is important that I adapt with them. Having a mobile teacher work station will help me conference with students and provide them with feedback in their chosen environment.
Classrooms and students are adapting and it's important that teachers adapt, as well.
If my students are choosing where to sit, it is vital that I am able to move to their chosen seats.
The key word in "flexible seating" is flexible. Students want to be able to move their seats, so it is important that the teacher's work station is able to be moved around, as well!
