Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school, in cooperation with its families and the community, is a comprehensive high school which offers many different types of courses as diverse as Art, Math, English, Science, JROTC, Social Studies, Business, and Auto Tech. Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are also available. Besides the regular school day calendar, courses in Evening School Opportunities (ESO) and Communities in Schools (CIS) for non-traditional students are also offered. Because of its rich traditions, my school has seen many second and third generation students graduate, as well as graduates that return as faculty members.
Mission: our community fosters life-long learning through an equitable and rigorous curriculum in a positive school environment.
My Project
I would like to obtain a Teach and Store stand from Lakeshore Learning for my classroom. Students have often asked me for better ways to reach all of them and this will allow me to do it. I have students of extremely varied needs and having another tool to help me differentiate my lessons will be of great impact.
Additionally, I will be able to work with small groups who are struggling with a concept without taking away the focus of the whole class.
Students will benefit by having this extra resource in the classroom. Any help is greatly appreciated.
