My students need three iPad Minis to use with the awesome robots and makerspace items we have received with previous projects. Our older iPads are no longer capable of supporting some of the apps we need.
My students are eager to learn, and as their teacher I am eager to teach them lessons in innovative ways. We are currently applying their knowledge and creativity in various lesson during their library visits. I want to take that to the next level by allowing students to explore and create with different types of technologies, problem solving techniques, and applying their knowledge.
My students attend a school where many are considered at-risk or economically disadvantaged, and we were recently impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
We are trying to provide them with opportunities to experience new technology and innovative learning. They are eager to learn and have a desire to achieve greatly. Education is their best chance of achieving a good job and having a future full of possibilities. It is the goal of the school to provide more project-based learning opportunities so students can be accountable for their learning.
My Project
Our school is in desperate need for new technology. We currently have a set of iPads that no longer support many of the apps we want to utilize with several of our makerspace robots. We don't have a lot of funding to purchase new technology, and I'm trying to get a head start here in the library with a few iPad minis at a time.
It's been especially difficult for our school to purchase new technology after our district was afflicted by Hurricane Harvey.
With this project I hope we can help our students some of the necessary apps need for our creative learning and lessons. It would also definitely help us be able to use some of the makerspace robots we received in previous projects in a larger capacity.
