My Students

Our school is a Title I school in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Many of our students come into our school at kindergarten with no past educational experiences or no experience in a school setting.

Our kindergarten and first grade kiddos come from many different backgrounds and home lives.

My students are super excited to learn and very eager to be at school in a safe, caring community. Our classroom is a place for all learners to come and feel welcome. We currently have a class set of Google Chromebooks that we received from a grant from the state. This was an amazing gift and we use them daily to practice reading and math! This is a great way to keep them engaged and excited to learn!

My Project

Every Friday in my classroom, we would always book shop! This is where my kiddos can go through our classroom library and choose books to read for the week! Mo Willems books were everyone's favorite! They love to read them! This project would allow me to provide my students with 2 of their favorite books to read at home with their family!

I want to encourage their literacy development while they are at home!

This project would allow my students the opportunity to read books they love with their families!
