My students are inquisitive and perform the absolute best when they are working in small groups. They absolutely love hands-on activities that allow them the opportunity to work with their peers. They come to school each day ready to learn regardless of what obstacles they may face outside of my classroom. The majority of my students arrive at school each day looking forward to being in an environment that encourages a positive mindset. Each school year I get a group of students that inspire me to do more to help them reach their potential!
My Project
My students have started an after school program to help them academically. The program starts after the school day ends and lasts for two hours. Most students are unable to bring their own snacks to eat. By the time the day ends, these students need a small break where they can eat and refuel their growing bodies. The snacks also help keep them focused throughout the program. I was buying snacks myself but it has been getting expensive considering the number of students who attend. My students look forward to the program and a big reason why is because of the snacks I have available.
