My students are Pre-K to second graders who love to move. When they come to the door for their Physical Education class, I can feel their energy. Our community lacks the resources required to attain adequate supplies and equipment.
I hear, "I love gym!" all day long.
It makes me so happy to know that most young kids are enthusiastic about exercise. I want to encourage this love for movement by providing as many successful experiences for them as possible in the Physical Education classes that I teach. I hope that their experiences will instill a desire for lifetime fitness.
My Project
During these Covid times many of my PE classes have to be held outside. It helps to keep everyone safe, allows for fresh air and mask breaks and allows for the students to exercise and play while having enough space between them.
Many of our students do not have gloves to keep their hands warm during the winter months.
If a child is uncomfortable and cold it makes it difficult for them to concentrate on learning our PE skills during class.
I would be so happy to be able to provide warmth and comfort to my students so they can feel good while exercising and taking a much needed break from the confines of the digital classrooms.
