My students are reluctant learners. They do not like to challenge themselves and avoid that uncomfortable feeling at all costs.
They are great kids with lots of potential, but need to learn to embrace failure and see it as part of learning.
They are very social students and display leadership qualities. They just need the direction to become positive leaders.
My students are intelligent kids and will be great leaders if they can learn to persevere and find the satisfaction in learning from their mistakes.
My Project
By teaching my students the growth mindset, I hope to teach them to embrace challenges and mistakes. I hope to use the read-alouds as part of the lessons. I hope to use the Growth Mindset books and standing desk to educate myself the other teachers in the building as well. The standing desk will be used to make the lessons more stream-lined. I will be able to travel with my computer all set up and ready to go. This will give me more time with students.
I hope that they will become people who can persevere and take risks in order to achieve great things.
I hope to change the attitudes of the school so that we become a Growth Mindset culture. We will do that by learning about Growth Mindset and applying the principles to our everyday learning.
