Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My day at Middle School is one filled with Project based projects. We are all about learning about the world of science but more importantly helping to change the world for the better. We work collaboratively to problem solve world problems using the area of science as the vehicle.
My students are over 180 per of 8th graders eager to do learn and create.
We are a title I school located in La Habra, California. We are a classroom that does Project Based Learning and we are engrossed in the concept of using the 21st century learning to set a better learning environment.
My Project
This 3D printer will help my students to create a replica of the biome and living environment that they would need to create to sustain life on the planet Mars. They will use the CAD program to use precisely, plan and execute the creation of their model Mars biosphere. The tripod will be used in conjunction with their iPads when they will create a short 30 second commercial on their accommodations they will be able to provide on the red plant, "Mars"
Each and every project based learning unit my class has created it has shaped their lives by learning that there are all kinds of types of scientists and more importantly they can also do great things in the future.
Each project they have done they beam with pride. We involve the community and professionals to come to the showcases. They really look forward to it!
