My Students

I work in a low-income school where many of my students do not have much at home. They also have chaotic lives that can sometimes spill over in to the classroom. My goal as a teacher is to make my classroom a structured place for my students with as many resources as possible. I teach cross-categorical math classes this year. My students all have IEPs that require extra supports and accommodations to help them be successful at school. Many of my students struggle with attention and hyperactivity.

My Project

My students all have deficits in reading and have accommodations in their IEPs to have assignments read to them aloud. My students need to use headphones daily to listen to their math assessments and interventions. The pocket organizer will keep the headphones organized and protected.

Many of my students have attention issues and struggle with hyperactivity.

They have a hard time sitting still and focusing on the task at hand. The kick bands go across the legs of the students' chairs and help the students who constantly fidget in their seats. The kick bands help them self-regulate as they sit and work or listen to instruction.
