This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have taught 5th grade for 5 years and was hesitant about teaching 3rd but it is quickly becoming my favorite. I have a special bunch this years. My students are most engaged when using hands on materials. They love seeing how numbers can be manipulated and how they work. They are very curious and love asking questions. The especially love math, it’s they’re favorite partners of the day. I am constantly working to keep lessons fun and engaging for them. What I love most about them is their love for learning, third grade is the best!

My Project

My students deserve a center kit that is engaging and that matches the CCSS. The skills addressed in the kit will help them succeed on standardized tests. The kit contains hands on activists for the students that directly match each common core state standard. At times some standard are hard to teach and hard for students to learn unless they are given hands on materials to play with the numbers. The materials in the center will keep my students engagement level up and their love for learning will continue to flourish. As a teachers that’s what’s most important, building life long learners.
