This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, imaginative, amazing little people! In my classroom, we implement flexible seating to encourage optimal learning. They have the brightest ideas and exhibit so much joy in taking control of their learning environment.

Together we have built a classroom community based on trust and kindness.

I couldn't be more proud of my students and the growth they've shown me. They respect one another and work so well together. We've created this classroom full of a joy for reading, and constant fascination with math. I love these kiddos!

My Project

Flexible seating has been proven to exemplify student learning and focus. Moving around and being active promotes brain activity and also lets the student be in charge of their learning experience. Students will use flexible seating in my classroom to work at their best ability while having fun. I chose bean bags, swivel stools, and yoga mats so that my students will have options available to them when it comes to working independently or with others.

My students are encouraged to be creative and think outside the box in my classroom.

This seating will make group work easier and promote that imaginative thinking that I've seen in these kids. They stay on task and enjoy being in the classroom when flexible seating is provided. My students would greatly benefit from this project!
