Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The first year of school can be a scary time! My Pre-K students will be learning to love school, and I want to make sure that their first year in the classroom is a great one! I am passionate about early education, and want to make sure that my students are ready for success.

My students attend a low income/high poverty school, and go through challenges that no young child should face.

40% of children living in poverty aren’t prepared for primary schooling. Please help me to make an individual difference in preparing these future scholars!

My Project

These materials will allow me to set up an warm, home-like environment conducive to young children's learning. I believe that a child's environment is one of their most important teachers, and want to surround my students with tools to help them do their best! We will learn about the weather and days of the week with our calendar, color and practice letters with our crayons and paper, understand the flow of our day with the schedule chart, and use carpet squares to help us focus during story time. The teach and store chart stand will allow me the students to practice letters, numbers, and document their important ideas!

These students work hard to come to school!

Pre-K sets the tone for the rest of their educational career, and I want to make sure that they love their journey! Even though they face great obstacles, I know that they are capable of even greater things!
