Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My diverse learners are bright, motivated, and one-of-a-kind individuals. They put a smile on my face each and every day, and they all enjoy coming to school and succeeding in the classroom. I feel so blessed to be their case manager, and I am lucky to work in such a rewarding field.
Ninety-five percent of our school is considered low-income and receives free or reduced-price lunch.
The student body consists of sixty-five percent Latino, thirty percent African-American, and five percent Caucasian. Even though it has become extremely difficult and sometimes frustrating to educate without needed supplies, our students still come to school eager to learn.

My Project
My school is creating a Snoezelen Multi-Sensory room for our learners with special needs as well as those students who are in need of sensory and calming breaks throughout the day in order to be successful at school. Snoezelen rooms can aid learning/development, help to relax an agitated students or stimulate and raise alertness levels of someone who has sensory processing disorders. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to create an environment with soothing sounds, captivating aromas, tactile experiences, massage and vibration, and interesting light effects. The Snoezelen muti-sensory room will benefit early learners, students with learning disabilities, students with challenging behaviors, autism, and sensory processing disorders.
We have designated a wonderful space for our Snoezelen room, but we are in need of the products that will create a multi-sensory experience within this environment.
One of these items is a bubble wall mirror. This unique wall mirror creates exciting multiple images that reflect back from "bubble" mirrors. The students can watch the reflections change shape and size as they move. This fun mirror offers exciting multi-duplication of images, plus changes of shape and size. It is a great focal point for visual perceptual experiences. The mirror is made of shatter-resistant acrylic. We would greatly appreciate your donation to our school's Snoezelen Multi-Sensory Room. We are thrilled to be able to offer our students a soothing and captivating environment, and we know the benefits of having this space within our school will be endless.
