I teach at a public charter high school (9-12) situated in the delta of the Mississippi. Art is very important to our communities, not only music but also the visual arts, especially after Hurricane Katrina struck the city and left us mainly with art to express our feelings. Three arts credit are a graduation requirement, and the visual arts classes are always sought out.
One of our students may be the Picasso of the 21st century, but we will not know it until we get them the supplies that they need to express their talent.
All are creative, curious, enthusiastic and eager to produce beautiful art work.

My Project
Dear Donor,
We have to think about the life after Covid-19, so I'm thinking about getting these cute mini canvases and easels make will make for a cute souvenir.
I am also hoping to get thin brushes to paint on the mini canvasses with high-quality oil paints. st the right size for you to get a feel for your new brushes or try your hand at a new technique. The theme will be " Paint your pet portrait )or the pet you would like to have."
The canvases are the right size for my students to get a feel for the new brushes and to try their hand at a new technique: Draw and paint tiny! It's a very different skill.
What my students are going to lean: Mastery of oil painting is a requirement for my TAV class and this will perfectly introduce the oil medium to my students without the fear of a large canvass. They are also going to learn how to do art on a small format.
I think that my students will enjoy a very different format than the typical paper sheet. With these items, they can create mini masterpieces with big impact!
