Help me give my students the chance to make wearable works for the upcoming Spring Fine Arts Night that invites families to view and create art at our school.
My students are creative middle schoolers who are interested in exploring the world of art. Students manipulate a variety of media in our classroom as they find a variety of solutions to challenges they approach with visual answers.
Our school is a great place for learning, and I am proud of the accomplishments of our students, which include recognition at local, state, and national competitions.
In addition to achieving this success, my students are interested in giving back to the community through a variety of service-learning projects.
My Project
Getting the community involved and excited about art is central to our program. Every Spring we have a Fine Arts Night and offer a maker space for anyone who is interested to get creative and make things! This project will help provide additional tools and resources that can give families the chance to make wearable works during this celebration of our Arts programs.
The mini-button maker and other tools will give students the chance to lead families in a creative and quick way to make wearable art during our Fine Arts Night.
Not only will those in attendance get to enjoy the work of our students on display, but they will get to make their own creative work that can be worn and saved as a souvenir of the event. Students learn best when they get the chance to serve as the teacher and this project will allow that to happen in an authentic way!
