I teach an exciting group of mixed interest high school art students. Our classroom is about creating art and building skills in collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking in an effort to develop attributes of citizenship and character.
Several students participate in our AP arts program as well as a variety of internships at the school and in the local community.
My goal as an art educator is to inspire more students to develop a deeper understanding of their world through hands-on real world experiences creating art.
These materials will make a difference by giving our AP students the opportunity to showcase their art in a new and unique way. They will be able to involve the entire school in their miniature show instead of just the classroom peers. They will feel a sense of pride and accomplishment as they walk the school and involve friends and teachers in the amazing art.
Engagement in the art creation process is important to students and this will give them an affordable chance to be part of an art show.
