Our school is one of the smaller schools in Northern NH; we have many single parent homes and a majority are low income homes.
My students are curiosity, have a zest to learn, and display genuine kindness.
I'm eager to watch these young scholars transform over the course of the academic year. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a mind being sparked and a heart connecting to a world outside the confines of a classroom. The level of collaboration, team work, and sense of accountability in my room is overwhelming. I wish nothing more than to equip my students with whatever is necessary to facilitate their journey towards greatness.
It is our mission as educators to keep education relevant and engaging. Technology is at the core of this mission. In efforts to foster the development of eager 21st-century learners, my students must have access to technology.
Ipads are perhaps the most accessible tool for students to utilize when engaging with online intervention systems.
Programs such as Handwriting without Tears, ABCYA, and SkyFish provide Kindergarten students unparalleled opportunities to practice with kid-friendly applications.
Students can take control of their own learning and research topics of interest. The ability to research allows students to become autonomous learners and take accountability for their learning.
