Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is fast paced with students constantly engaged in learning and leadership. Student come in and instantly take ownership of the classroom. My goal for each child is that they are more equipped for the world that they live in. To help, I am choosing to expose my students to technology daily.
Our school holds a great presence in our community.
It is dearly loved by our students and families, community, and staff. We are a Title 1 school and serve a very diverse ELL student body alongside our general education students. We are thrilled about the opportunity to use technology in the classroom!
My Project
This iPad will be on a rotational schedule between all of the teachers at our school that our Media Specialist will organize. Teachers will be able to check the iPad out for their classroom to enhance our student'Âs learning through centers. In literacy centers, teachers can check out the iPad for students to read eBooks. These books may not be available in the classroom or in the school library due to a high volume of student using the libraries. In math centers, students can use the iPad to practice math facts and obtain fluency needed to be successful in other math topics. The iPads are a tool that our students love to use to learn. By giving them these opportunities in our classroom, we are creating the connection that when they use an iPad outside of the classroom, it can still be used as a learning tool!
This project will improve and enhance our classrooms because it will give students the opportunity to learn in a new way!
Our classrooms being technology-rich will prepare and educate our students for their upcoming test, such as PARCC, that expect our students to read text and produce a written piece of working using a technology tool.
