My students are bright explorers and are constantly seeking out new adventures! They are excited and eager to learn every time they come see me. See, my kids are a little bit unique. They are in the WINGS program, which is our gifted and talented class. I only have one day a week with each group, so we have to make every minute count.
Technology is ever-changing, and our students need to learn the basics so that they can learn and change with it.
Our goal is to teach our students to not only use technology but to be the CREATORS of the next generation.
Our district qualifies for Title I because it meets the criteria because a large percentage of our student population is eligible for free or reduced-rate lunch. Although many people wouldn't think so, my classroom has students with special needs due to ADD/ADHD.
My Project
In the WINGS program, we have a unique opportunity to include unconventional projects into our learning environment. That's why we would love to bring a mini-fablab to our little hallway! This will allow us to make and create projects without ever having to leave our classroom!
3D printers, laser engravers, and circuit materials will allow our students to dive deep into the world of technology.
We have been traveling to our local FabLab, but it would make the creative process so much more streamlined if our students simply had to walk across the hallway to make their ideas and dreams a reality.
