O. Fred Donaldson once said "Children learn as they play, Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn."
To allow my students to have authentic educational experiences, my students need more opportunities for hands-on learning.
My students range from 3-5 years old. My students come from suburban neighborhoods, rural farms, and public housing. My students come from a small geographic region but they and their families have a vast array of life experiences. Truly these students are my inspiration.
My class loves to be busy exploring. They love hands-on activities that they can hold, touch, feel, smell and manipulate.
The hexagon science table would help my students explore the world through many different ways.
Six students at one time would be able to take turns using the table and its many manipulatives. This table has magnifying areas where the students can examine their specimens even closer. The table also has magnet areas and mirrors which creates even more Science adventures. These miniature scientists are a very busy group that love touching, viewing and exploring our insects very closely. With a world that focuses a lot on English and Mathematics, we need more Science in our lives!
