I am working hard to reach my 27 students while they're at home. Equity and access are at the forefront of my mind. Some of my students do not have access to any support besides me, and I am determined to make remote learning work for them.
At this time, I am thinking most about my students who thrive on face time with me and having access to me for everything.
From learning to other basic skills like shopping for food online, I am supporting my children in any way that I can.
I need basic supplies and books at home to make remote learning feel great for my students. Currently, I have no books related to our upcoming writing and reading units and no supplies.
My Project
With these materials, I'll be able to make our picture book unit come to life! While I know I can't replicate the classroom at home, I am trying my best to bring the things I know kids love to their homes including read-alouds and video meetings with me and with their peers. I hope to make remote learning feel better for the students I know are struggling the most.
